Volunteer

Want to Get Involved?

Almost every family is affected by substance abuse in one way or another. Volunteering at the Turning Point of Franklin County (TPFC) is a positive way to learn a little bit more about yourself, your loved one, or your friend who is struggling with addiction.

The Center has a limited staff with the primary objective to provide peer support, manage operations, coordinate volunteers, and develop and facilitate groups. TPFC welcomes volunteers to help keep the center up and running. As a volunteer at Turning Point you are an integral part of the overall mission of providing a supportive, safe and substance-free environment for those interested in recovery and their families. Our center is founded on the premise of providing "peer-to-peer" recovery support services. As a recovery support worker, you will have the opportunity to help people from the community who are on a lifelong journey of staying clean and sober. Your commitment to support our guests is deeply appreciated.

As a volunteer you will:

  • Serve the recovery community
  • Make a new friend and be of service to others
  • Share your experience, wisdom and support with others
  • Be an active, vital member of the recovery community
  • Develop professional work habits, references, and job experience
  • Receive recognition for your dedication and services to the community

Additionally, we would like to note that many of our volunteers and potential volunteers have special skills or talents and we would like to acknowledge that and give people the opportunity to share these skills or talents with our guests. If you would like to donate your time at the Center to do a special activity or event such as art classes, crafts, hiking, kayaking, or anything else, please feel free to let us know that and we can work together to start a group. There is plenty of fun in sobriety and we like to contribute to that as much as possible.
